AI is useful for the first draft, not the final file. Use it to explore directions, then finish the icon in the local generator so every size stays sharp.
Step 1 — describe the mark
Open AI Studio and describe the icon in plain words: subject, shape and style. One clear idea beats a long list. The result is clean SVG you can edit.
Step 2 — lock the palette
Ask for a background, foreground and accent colour. Check the contrast at 16 px before you keep it: a palette that reads small beats a trendy one that disappears in a tab.
Step 3 — name it and write the copy
Use the naming and SEO tabs to draft a short product name, a title under 60 characters and a description under 155 characters. Rewrite anything that sounds generic.
Step 4 — export every size
Send the chosen result to the generator, adjust padding and corners, then download the ICO, PNG set and manifest snippet in one ZIP.
AI output is a starting point. Check licences and similarity before publishing.
